FormAlloy has completed installation and training of the first L-series Laser Metal Deposition system at University of California - San Diego (UCSD)’s Department of Nanotechnology. The new L-series, which includes an inert gas build chamber, scientific monitoring capability and features a blue wavelength laser, was released earlier this year and can be used to 3D print, repair and clad metallic parts. This groundbreaking release positions FormAlloy as the first company to deliver a Laser Metal Deposition with blue laser technology.
