Melanie Lang, FormAlloy Co-Founder and CEO, is an aerospace engineer motivated by developing a disruptive technology to deliver high value components made from standard and exotic materials, at cost-effective prices, and with reasonable lead times. She started her career at Boeing and then spent 14 years at Lockheed Martin. In addition to her role at FormAlloy, Melanie currently serves as a board member for the Association of Manufacturing Technology (AMT), Additive Manufacturing Advisor to the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), and board member for the California MEP. Melanie previously served 2 terms on the America Makes executive committee, and established the San Diego chapter of Women in 3D Printing. The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) named Melanie the Entrepreneur of the Year in 2023.

Jeff Riemann, FormAlloy  Co-Founder and CTO, is a Mechanical Engineer, Directed Energy Deposition (DED) subject matter expert, and has over 20 years of experience in machine design and integration. Jeff began his career at Boeing as a controls engineer and later assumed the role of VP of Product Development at a machine tool manufacturer. At FormAlloy, Jeff leads the technical team to innovate and push the bounds of Directed Energy Deposition (DED) technology, developing high quality and effective solutions for the metal Additive Manufacturing industry.

FormAlloy was founded in 2016 by engineers from the Aerospace and Heavy Industry with proven expertise and leadership in machine design, engineering, program management and business development. The company was founded with the goal to deliver on the future we could have previously only imagined – from Impossible to AMpossible.
