FormAlloy to Unveil New X5R DED System at RAPID + TCT / AeroDef 2025

FormAlloy is preparing to showcase its latest innovation, the X5R DED System, at the RAPID + TCT and AeroDef 2025 Conference in Detroit, Michigan from April 8 to 10. As a leader in Directed Energy Deposition technology, FormAlloy continues to raise the bar for advanced metal additive manufacturing.

The new X5R system is built for high-demand applications where precision, speed, and traceability are essential. It features an expanded build volume and offers the flexibility to use either powder or wire feedstock, or a combination of both within a single build. These enhancements support complex part production, efficient repairs, and cladding processes for industries including aerospace, defense, and energy.

Our team designed the X5R in direct response to industry needs for greater capability with complete process visibility,” said Melanie Lang, CEO and Co-Founder of FormAlloy. “This system gives engineers and manufacturers the tools to take on larger and more advanced projects with full confidence in quality and control.”

Visitors to Booth 2037 will be among the first to explore the X5R firsthand, with live insights, sample parts, and access to FormAlloy’s expert technical team.
